Elegant and Fun Website for Premium Food Tour Company

We sell and operate food tours in the Los Angeles area. A trained guide takes guests on a tour of a specific neighborhood, in which the guests get to see sites and taste food and drink at several highly rated restaurants and eateries. The guests may be locals, tourists or other visitors from out of town. These tours are a premium product and target people with high disposable income. The target audience is the high income traveler who is looking for a high quality travel experience. They are passionate about eating and learning about food. They are quite intellectual and love to learn generally. They have traveled a lot so they are looking for an unexpected experience with a bit of (culinary) adventure. They have high standards and need to feel that the tour company is very professional and that the guides they interact with will really know what they are doing before they feel comfortable booking directly on a company’s website. They are impressed by and highly respect expertise. Having a luxurious experience is not necessarily the most important thing to them. They enjoy luxury, but they understand that off-the-beaten-path experiences are not always luxurious and that’s part of the fun. They like to feel like they are in the know and like to show off the knowledge they gained on their tours to friends and family after they get home.

We want it to look very polished and elegant – for a high-end service – but also illustrate the enjoyment people will get out of the tours. We like the colors we have on our current website, but we are open to other theme ideas. We want to include photos and videos of people on our tours, enjoying the food, or of sites and food items on our tours.

Current site has FareHarbor widget, but would like more elegant design. There is a lot of information accessible from the tour page (FAQs, Good to know, Tour Summary, Tour Itinerary). We like this but it seems a bit clunky/busy. - We’d like it to feel less choppy. - Photo gallery with 5-20 photos/videos - Detailed description, with inclusions, exclusions, cancellation policy, etc. - FareHarbor calendar widget - “Book Now” and “Contact Us” buttons - Tour Location Frequently Asked Questions / Good to Know Page – arranged in tabs: - FAQ: Eat Mexico does a great version of this with dropdown boxes for the questions. It should be accessible from the tour pages. Eat Mexico sets it up so you can click on the FAQ tab on the tour and see the FAQs. We like this, but we also would like there to be a separate page. - Good To Know: General info which everyone should know about each tour. Eat Mexico sets it up so you can click on the Good to Know tab on the tour and see the things you should know. We like this, but we also would like there to be a separate page. Blog post template: - We want to be able to include lots of photos and videos, especially at the top of the page. - Each blog post title and associated image should appear in a box on the page. The box will then be linked to the actual post (which will appear on a separate page). About the Company page: - Content about how the company got started and what our mission is - Bios of the Nneka and Geoff with our photos

We want the page to have a light colored background with darker text. We like bright pops of color. No sad, muted colors please.

[There is a PDF attached that contains the full text of this brief and images of our business cards and stock photos for inspiration.] Words that describe our tours/business: - Delicious - Fun - Informative - Intellectual - Unpretentious - Inspiring - Unexpected - Adventurous - Professional - Well worth the money Please consider what these words evoke. The color scheme should be bright and fun but still elegant and grown up. I particularly love the colors of houses on Caribbean islands. Some houses are brightly colored in LA County beach cities as well. Please see the example in the attached PDF. Maybe the color accents on the page could be a selection of these colors. Text headers which split up sections of each page could be in these colors. Rich blue sky color like the one in the photo above should also be featured. The background could be more of a cream color. These are just some ideas to start with. These tours are not for kids. They are too intellectual to be interesting to the average kid. The design should reflect the mature (but still fun) nature of these tours. Please review the screenshots of stock images (in the PDF) to see what types of images align with our brand. There are mostly women in these photos because 82% of travel decisions are made by women regardless of who is paying for the trip. We want the look and feel of this website to appeal to everyone, but we think it is fine if it has a more feminine feel. What we mean by “appeal to everyone” is that we don’t want the website to be so feminine that it is offputting to men. We do want women viewing our website to feel as if our product is something that they specifically would enjoy. Please also consider some of the colors in our business cards. There are screenshots from Canva in the attached PDF. The purple outline isn’t actually on the card. It’s just an artifact from Canva. I also love the watercolor vibe of some of the images on these cards. Could we see how making the accents on the page look like brush strokes looks e.g. like the chopsticks in the gyoza business card below. We’d also like to see examples where the accents on the pages aren’t brush strokes. Thanks.
